Obv: head of Arethusa surrounded by four dolphins, bold signature on die below lowest dolphin.
Rev: Four horse chariot in high action, driver crowned by Nike, armour and weapons in exergue.
EF, nice large, near round flan. Pleasing die states. Edge split from striking which is near invisible on Arethusa side. — $37,000

The most complete and accurate presentation in a full color, fold over card which opens to 11 by 8 ½ inches and gives a full discussion of the ancient Judaean coins mentioned in the New Testament. c1818 Germanic tin medallic box, struck obv and rev and filled with hand painted cards depicting the events of the famine in 1816-1817 in northern Europe. I believe the year with no summer in 1816 was caused by the violent eruption of the Indonesian volcano island of Krakatoa, which spewed so much ash into the atmosphere that summer never came in much of the northern hemisphere, and food shortages followed. This medal attracted a lot of attention at a major coin show, and I was offered two others in trade towards this one. One was a raw nice Abt unc at $6000, and the other was a light field graffiti raw Proof 60 at $9000. Mine is for the quality and pedigree buyer. NGC Proof 64 — $14,700

Before 1996 gold House of Representatives pedant, 14k, awarded by Admiral F.J. Nimitz to his longtime personal assistant MS Burkit. Admiral Nimitz presided at the Nuremburg War Trials, where I think he was portrayed by Spencer Tracy in the movie. Admiral Nimitz was also honored by a huge aircraft carrier bearing his name.
