57-38 BC silver drachm of Orodes II

About 19 mm diameter. Obverse: diademed bust of Orodes II, the greatest Parthian king to deal the Roman's their worst humiliating defeat. Crassus, one of the triumvirs with Pompey the Great, and Julius Caesar, led his legions into a trap. Over 10,000 Romans were massacred, their sacred legionary standards lost for decades, and Crassus was executed by molten gold poured down his throat.
